  2. User Information/Help

    • Help! I cannot login!?

This problem sometimes occurs with MSIE. Close all Internet Explorer windows and open Internet Options in the control panel. Click the Delete Cookies button. You should now be able to login or try this url: http://bean-crisis.org/tt2/login.php

    • I registered an account but did not receive the confirmation e-mail!

You won't receive a confirmation email. We are not using any type of Validation!

    • Help! My download is stuck at 99%!

The more pieces you have, the harder it becomes to find people who have the pieces you need. That's why downloads sometimes slow down or even stop completely. Just be patient and you will get the remaining pieces.

    • Why did a torrent suddenly disappear?

The main reasons for this are:

      • The torrent may have been out-of-sync with the site rules.
      • The torrent was not seeded for an extended period of time.
      • A torrent of the same item was still active.

    • Why does it say I've uploaded/downloaded zero bytes? / Why are my transfer stats wrong?

This is a problem with some clients that don't report the stop event to the tracker.
(xfer stats are updated by the tracker when a torrent is closed)

    • Why is my IP displayed on my details page?

Besides yourself only the sites moderators can view your full IP address, others can only see your subnet.

      Like this: 217.18.32.XXX for example.

    • What are the different user classes?

User - the default class of new members(full use of site features)
VIP - same privileges of user but also has access to our direct download server
Uploader - by default all of our members hold the upload rights
Moderator - can edit, delete any uploaded torrents, moderate user comments and close accounts / ban users (IP's)
Administrator - can do just about everything
      SysOp - site owner(freep99)

Shitlisted - if your account is shitlisted you will not be able to download until your ratio improves

  3. What is Bittorrent?

    • What is this bittorrent all about anyway? How do I get the files?

Check out Brian's BitTorrent FAQ and Guide.

    • How does BitTorrent work?

The .torrent files are basically text files with general information about the shared file (size, name, etc) inside of them.

The server saves this information about the shared files. Then, a user downloads the torrent and opens it with a client. The client gets the server address from inside the torrent, connects to it and asks who it should connect to get the file. The server responds with a list of 50 random ips from the peer list (or less, depending in how many clients are connected). This process gets repeated several times, every few minutes, until the client disconnects.

And because of the way BitTorrent works, the faster you upload, the faster you download.

For a more in depth technical explanation of this process, please visit the Official BitTorrent site.

  4. Required software (recommended BitTorrent clients)

  5. About firewalls and routers

    • To be able to download and upload using BitTorrent properly, you need to open the TCP ports 6881 to 6999 to be able to connect to the swarm, and port 6666 and 90 (both tcp) to be able to connect to the tracker. For information on how to do this, please consult your firewall/router maker's site.

  6. The page freezes when I try to upload a torrent

    • This will happen when this site tried to contact the tracker being used for the torrent and it cannot do so, eventually it will timeout and the torrent will have been uploaded successfully, however it will appear dead. The torrent will be automatically checked at a later time and if the tracker is alive will be updated else it will eventually be deleted.
